Our Mission

The Toronto Vascular Institute is founded on the following three principles:
  1. There is no need to hospitalize patients who require diagnostic angiography or angioplasty. This premise has been proven by the 10,000 angiograms and 6000 angioplasties that have been safely performed at TVI in the last 20 years.
  2. Locating the clinic outside the hospital is less intimidating for patients. Many patients have an unreasonable fear of hospitals and the anxiety generated by that fear may trigger adverse reactions. The impersonal atmosphere of most large hospitals can only serve to increase that anxiety. In contrast, the small size of TVI and the friendly and very capable staff, help to create a relaxing atmosphere. Patients also benefit from the support of relatives or friends who are encouraged to keep them company before, after, and even during, the procedure.
  3. Patients benefit if referring physicians have access to the high quality angiographic examinations that are usually available only in the largest teaching hospitals.
